Ingredients
  

  • For the Dough (Crust) 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/4 cup ice water
  • For the Beef Filling: 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Dough: In a food processor, pulse together flour and salt. Add cold butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    Slowly add the ice water and pulse until the dough forms. Wrap the dough in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
    Make the Filling: In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
    Add chopped onions and garlic, cooking until softened. Stir in curry powder, allspice, cumin, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
    Let the mixture simmer until fully cooked and well-seasoned. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
    Assemble the Patties: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
    Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface. Cut into circles (about 5-6 inches wide).
    Place a generous amount of beef filling in the center of each dough circle, then fold over and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
    Bake: Place the patties on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush each patty with a beaten egg wash for a golden finish.
    Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the crust is golden and flaky.
    Serve:Allow the patties to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy as a snack or light meal.

Notes

  • You can freeze the assembled but unbaked patties for later use.
  • Feel free to adjust the spices to suit your taste. Add more cayenne pepper for extra heat or use a milder curry powder.
