  • 3 cups vegetable oil
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano

  • How to Make Crispy Tater Tots
    Boil the Potatoes: Place the potatoes in a Dutch oven and cover with cold, salted water (about 1 inch above). Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer, covered, for 6-7 minutes until parboiled. Drain well and let cool.
    Grate and Drain: Finely shred the potatoes using a box grater. Then, use a clean dish towel or cheesecloth to remove as much moisture as possible. This is key to how to make tater tots crispy.

Notes
